House Calls Dentist We are now are offering house calls dentistry for patients that are not able to get out to our office because of a physical condition.

Consistently good oral health is a learned art and it takes a lot of effort. That's because in the invisible but serious battle against gum disease and tooth decay, there's no compromise. You're either fighting it offensively, or you're losing. One moment after you brush and floss, those native oral bacteria are back at it again, repopulating their favorite playground, your mouth. Our approach to the battle includes not only the cleanings that we provide here,but an emphasis on careful patient education so that you can continue the battle effectively at home. Who knows? You might even end up enjoying what you learn, since it's done right at your chair side, through the state-of-the-art video system.

Our preventive services include:

  • Cleaning & Hygiene
  • Regular Check Ups
  • Patient Education and training
  • Dental Sealants
  • Breath Rx Breath Treatment
  • Night guards to protect against Bruxism
  • Equipment recommendation

Digital X-rays

Because many diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissues cannot be seen when your dentist examines your mouth, an X-ray examination can help reveal:

  • Small areas of decay between the teeth or below existing restorations (fillings);
  • Infections in the bone;
  • Periodontal (gum) disease;
  • Abscesses or cysts;
  • Developmental abnormalities;
  • Some types of tumors.

Finding and treating dental problems at an early stage can save time, money and unnecessary discomfort. Radiographs can help your dentist detect problems in your mouth that otherwise would not be seen. The amount of radiation that we are exposed to from dental X-rays is very small compared to our daily exposure from things like, cosmic radiation and naturally-occurring radioactive elements (for example, those producing radon).

Oral Cancer Screening

We are very concerned about oral cancer and conduct screening examinations on every patient.

The incidence or Oral Cancer continues to rise in the USA. The American Cancer Society indicates that in 2010, they expect a remarkable 11% increase in this deadly disease. Alarmingly, 25% of the new oral cancer cases are people that do not have any of the traditional life style risk factors, such as age, tobacco or alcohol use.

Traditionally, our dentist and hygienist have done oral cancer screening with the naked eye, but recently a new technology, the VELscope has received FDA approval. The VELscope (for Visually Enhanced Lesion scope) will help us pinpoint and identify suspicious tissue at earlier stages before they may become life threatening concerns.

VELscope, similar to other early detection procedures like colonoscopy, mammography, PAP smear and PSA exam, is a painless, non invasive blue light that is shown into the patient's mouth. The images are viewed through the back of the VELscope headpiece and the hygienist or dentist may find tissue abnormalities at an earlier stage. Before the exam, the room is darkened and much like desert storm night vision technology the clinician can see changes in tissue that may not be visible to the eye. These detected changes can range from something minor to something of greater concern that may require further examination and follow up.

A white and beautiful smile is a powerful greeting card... In fact, studies show that a more attractive smile is perceived in a better light by everyone. For example, studies show that people make 11 different assumptions about you just from the first smile, including judging your economic level, your trustworthiness, your educational level and your level of sophistication. So take good care of your smile at any cost. Keep those teeth healthy and white!

Root Canal Services

Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then your dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

Cosmetic Services & Onlays

A good smile can make a great impact on a person's life. Most people are so used to their smile that they don't realize that it can be improved. In fact, very few people are even aware of the many ways available these days for turning ordinary teeth into extraordinary smiles! From simple whitening, straightening, and shaping procedures, to more extensive reconstruction, we think you'll find that Dr. Sikka is experienced and skilled with whatever's required to help you look your best.

  • Whitening
  • Tooth Colored Fillings
  • Bonding
  • Porcelain Veneers

Implant Services

Dr. Sikka will work with your specialist to complete your implant services.  Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.

Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone. Integration of the implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes.

Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation by your dentist will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants.

Gentle Non-Surgical Gum Treatment

Good oral health results from a combination of factors, one of which is the health of your gums. Unfortunately, many people have a low level of chronic gum disease and don't even realize it. And that can mean tooth damage, tooth loss, bone loss, and extensive dental work. Our solution is to offer the best prevention education we can, keep a vigilant watch over any suspicious areas, chart everything, and offer the latest in in-office therapy methods. The good news is that periodontal disease can most often be successfully eliminated by deep and regular professional cleanings, accompanied by meticulous home care.

Invisalign

The clear alternative to metal braces :
By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth as usual.

Less treatment time :
An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about a year. You'll see your Invisalign Certified Orthodontist or Dentist every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you'll receive a new set of custom-molded clear aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by your doctor for your course of treatment.

Clear And comfortable :
Since Invisalign is practically invisible, there's no unwarranted attention to your mouth. In fact, very few people will notice at all - unless you tell them. They're comfortable to wear and remove easily when you eat, brush, and floss.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers:

 Is Invisalign effective?
Thousands of doctors are treating patients with Invisalign. It works for a wide range of patients whose teeth are too crowded or have spaces between them, as well as for those whose teeth may have shifted after having worn braces in their youth.

How often will I have to wear my Aligners?
Invisalign only works while you're wearing the Aligners. It's recommended that you wear your Aligners full-time, day and night, except to eat, brush and floss your teeth - or as directed by your doctor.

How long does Invisalign take?
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of your case, which determines the number of Aligners you need. However, the average is about 12 months, but only your doctor determines the length of your treatment.

How much does Invisalign cost?
As with traditional braces, the cost will be based on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. Many doctors charge the same for Invisalign as they do for traditional braces. Also, if your dental insurance plan covers traditional braces, it will typically cover Invisalign to the same extent.
